Description

This photographic field book is designed and created for scientists, mammal-watchers, photographers, students, and nature-lovers out there. It is literally designed to be carried in your 'pocket'. However, this book is in no way a replacement for the larger field guides such as Phillip's Field Guide to Mammals of Borneo by Quentin Phillipps illustrated by (Late) Karen Phillipps.

In this book, we only give the species name and potentially the best places to try and spot them. The names of the photograph's contributors can be found next to their photos. Special thanks to Dr. Charles Francis for his edits and comments. We hope the photo index and the photographs will be the perfect way for you to identify mammals during your trip in Borneo.

There are over 240+ mammal species in Borneo, and this book covers over 185 of them. This is perhaps one of the most comprehensive photographic guides to mammals of Borneo. Many of the bats, rats, and cetaceans are not included; however, other fascinating mammals such as civets, primates, wild cats, squirrels, and other megafauna are present.
